David is partner in Gunderson Dettmer’s Los Angeles office specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions.
David specializes in mergers & acquisitions, advising buyers, sellers and investors in mergers, stock purchases, asset sales and other strategic transactions. David has advised numerous technology companies on transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $75 billion across a variety of industries (including enterprise and consumer software, adtech, artificial intelligence (AI), crypto, defensetech, fintech, gaming & sports technology, life sciences, medical devices, manufacturing, telehealth, security & identity authentication, semiconductor, space and services businesses).
David counsels technology companies on M&A transactions through all stages in their growth cycle, from early-stage startups on their first buy-side transaction or exit, through to mature unicorn, decacorn or public companies engaging in serial buy-side programs or exits. David also advises venture capital funds in connection with the acquisitions of their portfolio companies.
David is a graduate of Stanford Law School and Washington University. Before joining the firm, David practiced in the New York office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton and clerked for Vice Chancellor John W. Noble of the Delaware Court of Chancery.
