Gunderson Dettmer Represents WideField Security in Agreement to be Acquired by Cisco
Gunderson Dettmer represented WideField Security in its agreement to be acquired by Cisco.
WideField’s technology will be integrated into Cisco’s Splunk platform to boost its agentic security operations center (SOC) capabilities by helping normalize and correlate identity, session, and activity telemetry from a variety of sources. With the acquisition of WideField, Cisco will continue developing and delivering differentiated, enterprise-grade agent and agentic security solutions that address the real-world challenges facing today’s organizations.
“WideField reinforces Cisco’s commitment to delivering an integrated trust layer for the agentic AI era — one that spans identity, runtime behavior, visibility, and enforcement — distinguishing Cisco as a trusted partner for enterprises seeking to operationalize AI with confidence and control,” said Kamal Hathi, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Splunk Business Unit at Cisco, in the announcement of the transaction.
The Gunderson deal team was led by M&A partners Andrew Luh and David Moore and included M&A and corporate associates Sharon Leringato, Lizzie Jongeward and Kimberly Sheehan, strategic transactions and licensing partner Aaron Fiske and associate Alex Lee, executive compensation partner Craig Olshan and associate Erik Ward, tax partner Lily Kim and associate Ray Fang, regulatory partner Gregory Kinzelman, and employment and labor of counsel Michael Hui.
