Ripple Announces $1B Acquisition of GTreasury
Gunderson Dettmer represented client Ripple, the leading provider of digital asset infrastructure for enterprise, in its $1 billion acquisition of GTreasury, a global leader in treasury management systems.
This acquisition will enable Ripple to expand its reach into the corporate treasury market, delivering instant payment rails and digital asset tools that help CFOs and treasurers modernize operations.
In the announcement of the acquisition, CEO of Ripple Brad Garlinghouse said, “For too long, money has been stuck in slow, outdated payments systems and infrastructure, causing unnecessary delays, high costs, and roadblocks to entering new markets -- problems that blockchain technologies are ideally suited to solve. Ripple’s and GTreasury’s capabilities together bring the best of both worlds, so treasury and finance teams can finally put their trapped capital to work, process payments instantly, and open up new growth opportunities.”
