Gunderson Dettmer represented client Alexia Ventures in leading the $10 million Series A financing of Rocket.Chat, an open source communication platform. Designed for team collaboration and omnichannel customer service, Rocket.Chat helps to exchange messages, organize video calls and share files, and integrates with multiple external communications. The new capital will be used for AI research and development.

In the announcement of the transaction, Alexia Ventures partner Patrick Arippol said, “I’ve been following [Rocket.Chat founder] Gabriel for a long time. He has great capacity to lead in this area of open source. And it has a huge distribution, with customers all over the world.”

The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was led by Christel Moreno and included Rafa Bellaver, Caitlin Peltz and Mark Macchi.
