Anna is an intellectual property associate in our Silicon Valley office. Anna specializes in corporate partnering, strategic alliances, technology protection, and licensing and commercialization of intellectual property and technology assets. Anna has particular expertise in U.S. and EU data privacy laws, as well as legal issues relating to open source software. Anna also focuses on transactional IP issues related to our clients’ financing and M&A activities.
Anna is a Certified Information Privacy Professional CIPP, holding both the U.S. private-sector certification and the EU data protection certification, each granted by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the global standard in privacy certification. The CIPP/US and CIPP/E certifications demonstrate a strong foundation in U.S. and EU private-sector privacy laws and regulations, and Anna routinely advises her clients on complex cross-jurisdictional data protection issues, including the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Prior to joining Gunderson Dettmer, Anna was an intellectual property associate in the San Francisco office of Kirkland & Ellis, LLP. Prior to Kirkland & Ellis, she was an associate in the London office of Herbert Smith, LLP (now Herbert Smith Freehills, LLP).
