Gunderson Dettmer represented the four lead investors – Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital – and several other investors in the $65 billion Series H financing of Anthropic, PBC the category leader in enterprise AI. The new capital values Anthropic at $965 billion post-money.
The funding is expected to advance safety and interpretability research, expand compute to meet growing demand for Claude, and scale the products and partnerships Anthropic customers rely on.
“Claude is increasingly indispensable to our growing global community of customers, and we work tirelessly to make tools like Claude Code and Cowork more helpful, more powerful, and more adaptable to their needs,” said Krishna Rao, Chief Financial Officer of Anthropic, in an announcement of the financing. “This funding will help us serve the historic demand we are experiencing, stay at the research frontier, and bring Claude to more of the places where work happens.”
The Gunderson deal team was led by corporate partners Greg Volkmar, Hilary Adams, Steve Baglio, Mark Oblad, Ryan Purcell, and Jeff Stricker, and included corporate associates Caroline Ceriello, Lawrence Ho, Darien Pun, Handi Xu, Nehemiah McGowan, and Sam Nyitray, strategic transactions and licensing partners Aaron Rubin and Katie Gardner and associate Emily Miller, data privacy partner Anna Westfelt, and regulatory partner Gregory Kinzelman.
