Richard Chang

Richard Chang is a partner in our Beijing office. He is a member of the firm’s China practice, Life Sciences practice and Public Offerings/Public Companies practice groups. He focuses on the representation of emerging growth companies, in particular life sciences and technology companies, throughout their corporate lifecycle.

Richard advises clients in a variety of transactions, including venture capital and private equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs and other public offerings, as well as general corporate and securities matters. Richard has substantial experience in life sciences/biotech, technology, media and telecommunication (TMT), fintech and energy sectors across the greater China area.

Richard regularly represents issuers in China and leading international underwriters in SEC-registered offerings, including initial public offerings on the NYSE and NASDAQ, equity follow-on offerings and registered convertible note offerings. Richard also advises US-listed companies and investors in equity and debt financings through public offerings and private placements. He is experienced in representing both issuers and sponsors in HKIPO transactions and international Rule 144/Regulation S offerings.

Prior to joining Gunderson Dettmer, Richard worked at the Hong Kong offices of major U.S. law firms. During law school, he served as a judicial intern for Honorable Judge Richard Linn of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
