Webinar: What GCs Should Expect Before and After the IPO
Taking a company public is a major undertaking for any company contemplating an IPO. The legal team will be at the center of the efforts to prepare for and close the IPO, as well as to manage the company’s post-IPO public company disclosure and governance obligations.
Gunderson Dettmer partners Alexa Belonick and Andy Thorpe and Of Counsel Brett Pletcher hosted the Post-IPO Summit webinar, "What GCs should expect before and after the IPO - Part 1."
They discussed the legal team’s role in the IPO, including:
1. Preparing significant portions of the S-1 registration statement
2. Working to ensure the accuracy and credibility of the company’s IPO story
3. Managing the due diligence process
They also discussed what the legal team will be expected to deliver leading up to the IPO, where the team can add value and how the team can prepare as the IPO approaches.
Part 2 is scheduled for May 15, 2024, at 11 a.m. Pacific / 2 p.m. Eastern and will cover post-IPO issues like SEC reporting, insider trading, adopting and living with public company policies and corporate governance. Details will be coming soon.
