Vaas Announces $5M Seed Financing
Gunderson Dettmer represented client Vaas, a financial technology company that evaluates debt and risk, in the announcement of its $5 million Seed financing led by Andreessen Horowitz. Vaas provides automated financial solutions to help banks and credit unions manage debt structure processes such as loan origination, account opening, credit analysis, and risk management. The company will use the new capital to provide a more accessible and transparent private debt market in Latin America.
In the announcement of the transaction, founder and CEO of Vaas Valentina Valencia said, “Structured debt is too complex, few people understand it. The operation is so complex that it is an inefficient process for the parties, who receive Excel documents, which are communicated by mail to many people and who enter an approval queue. What follows is an inefficient process for everyone.”
The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was led by Dan Green and Brian Willbur, and included Eduardo Espinosa de los Monteros Pereda.
