Semmle acquired by GitHub

Gunderson Dettmer client Semmle, a software engineering analytics company, has announced its acquisition by GitHub, a provider of engineering collaboration system.

In the announcement of the acquisition GitHub CEO Nat Friedman said, “We’re so excited to be joined by the Semmle team and to welcome their world class engineers and security researchers to GitHub. Together, we’ll bring their work to all open source communities and to our customers.”

The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was led by Richard Hesp and included Nevin Fox, James Hauser, Andrew Luh, Mark Foster, Keith Scherer, Peter Schoch, Jace Clegg, David Horne, Emily Lieberman, John Maciejewski, Frances Sevilla-Sacasa and Andrew Weymouth.
