Rainforest Raises $45M Series A Financing

Gunderson Dettmer represented client Rainforest, a Singapore-based e-commerce brand aggregator, in its $45 million Series A financing led by Canopy Tropics, a subsidiary of private equity fund, Southern Capital Group, with participation by Monk’s Hill Ventures, Insignia Ventures Partners and January Capital. This round follows after the company acquired Millenium Enterprises and its baby care brand NatureBond in March 2022.

In the announcement of the transaction, co-founder and chief executive officer of Rainforest Jia Jih Chai said, “This financing round provides us a capital advantage in the region and helps accelerate our path towards building a compelling house of brands for the modern mum. We look forward to making further acquisitions, growing our stable of brands, and bringing new and innovative products to market.”

The Gunderson deal team was led by Jolyn Ang and included Soo Guo Kai and Binh Vong.
