Gunderson Dettmer Clients Invest in Discord’s $500M Financing

Gunderson Dettmer represented client Dragoneer as it led the $500 million financing of Discord, a popular video-game chat community app. Additional Gunderson clients Altimeter, Coatue and other existing investors also participated in the round.
In the announcement of the transaction, CEO of Discord Jason Citron said that the new capital will be used to expand Discord's workforce and "invest in new features and tools."
The Gunderson deal teams were led by Michael Allers, Ryan Purcell and Greg Volkmar and included, Hilary Adams, Eli Heller, David Styles, Allison Giebisch and Jeff Ong.
