Gunderson Dettmer represented clients D1 Capital and Galaxy Interactive as investors in the $150 million Series C financing of Mythical Games, an operator of a gaming technology studio. The new capital will enable Mythical to expand its team, scale operations, and bring new game developers to its non-fungible token (NFT) platform.

In the announcement of the transaction, co-founder and CEO of Mythical John Linden said, “Players spend billions of dollars on digital assets each year, but the value of their collections has been locked away from them. Utilizing NFTs in gaming creates a whole new set of game design principles built around scarcity vs. inflationary free-to-play economies.”

The Gunderson deal teams were led by Greg Volkmar and Adam Reuben and included Jeffrey Stricker and David Styles.
