Lara specializes in structuring and negotiating complex and late-stage investments.
Lara started her career in London, where she advised US private equity funds on their acquisitions and divestitures of European assets. Since moving to the United States in 2014, Lara has split her time between the Bay Area and the Midwest—and deepened her commitment to advising non-US investors in growth-stage companies. She acts chiefly for international venture capital, sovereign wealth and pension funds.
Lara lectures at the University of Michigan Law School on late-stage venture capital issues. Lara also serves on the advisory board of the University’s Accelerate Blue Fund, an evergreen early stage fund that invests in technology developed at the University of Michigan.
Lara is recognized by Legal 500 in both the Venture Capital & Emerging Companies and the Private Equity Buyouts categories, where she is referred to as “very efficient” and “responsive” and commended for “leveraging associates while providing strategic guidance".
