In 2023, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission adopted sweeping new rules that will change the way that private funds operate. Even funds that are managed outside the U.S. may be affected. The new rules will govern how funds use and disclose side letters, handle potential conflicts of interest, report to their investors, as well as other activities.
