Madeline specializes in advising high-growth technology and venture-backed companies on commercial and IP matters across all aspects of their businesses, including strategic acquisitions and sales, product development and commercialization, licensing arrangements, data and privacy strategies, and other day-to-day operations.  Madeline has extensive experience negotiating complex commercial agreements across a wide spectrum of industries and products, including enterprise software, hardware, data procurement, and AI and machine learning products.  She has guided numerous clients through legal questions and strategy in the AI space, including data licensing and acquisition, enforcement of rights in AI-generated outputs, and legal risk assessments. 

Madeline also counsels leading venture capital firms on IP and commercial strategy and financing efforts for high-profile investment in early to late-stage companies.  Madeline regularly advises venture capital firms on company incubations and advises them on their portfolio companies’ IP development go-to-market efforts, strategic partnerships, and financing efforts.  

Prior to joining Gunderson, Madeline was an associate in the New York office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where she focused on the licensing, acquisition, development, sale, use and commercial exploitation of intellectual property and technology, as well as on the data privacy and cybersecurity aspects.
