Anthony is an associate in the Strategic Transactions and Licensing group.
Anthony advises companies on intellectual property issues and transactions in capital-intensive industries, like life sciences, artificial intelligence, aerospace/astronautics, and greentech. He counsels on collaborations, license agreements, strategic alliances, in-license and out-license transactions, technology transfers, co-development and co-commercialization arrangements, and the intellectual property aspects of mergers, asset sales, and financings.
Anthony works extensively at the intersection of life sciences and computation, including transactions involving AI-enabled drug discovery, machine-learning platforms, and the large-scale computing infrastructure that increasingly underpins modern research and development. In capital-intensive fields, where a single program can absorb enormous research, manufacturing, and infrastructure spend, Anthony structures these arrangements with an eye toward how they will be tested in later collaborations, sublicenses, and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Gunderson Dettmer, Anthony was a patent litigation associate in the San Diego office of Perkins Coie LLP, where he represented plaintiffs and defendants in patent and intellectual property disputes before U.S. District Courts and the International Trade Commission. That litigation experience continues to inform how he counsels clients on protecting and commercializing their technology.
