Nick is a corporate partner and a co-founder of Gunderson Dettmer’s Midwest office. He advises emerging companies through every stage of their lifecycle, working with founders and leaders from formation through scale to exit. He counsels companies and investors on venture capital and growth equity financings, strategic transactions, corporate governance, and securities law matters.

Nick connects with founders’ entrepreneurial spirit by tapping into his experience prior to Gunderson as an executive at a Bay Area start-up and as co-founder of the firm’s Ann Arbor office.

Nick’s clients include private companies of all stages, based across the US, including Silicon Valley, New York, Boston and throughout the Midwest’s burgeoning start-up scene. Representative clients include:

  • Anduril
  • Attain
  • BillionToOne
  • Bestow
  • Censys
  • Duo (until its acquisition by Cisco)
  • Our Next Energy

  • webAI
  • Wisely (until its acquisition by Olo)

Nick also represents several well-known venture capital and growth equity funds in their investment activities, including Accel, Addition, Origin, Valar and 53 Stations. Nick began his practice at Gunderson in the firm’s Silicon Valley and San Francisco offices, and was previously an associate at Cravath and Morrison & Foerster.

Nick lives in Ann Arbor with his wife and two kids, is a mostly retired amateur boxer and tries to get to Nova Scotia as often as possible.
