AI-Powered Transportation System Derq Announces Strategic Investment from E& Capital and AT&T Ventures
Gunderson Dettmer represented client Derq, a leading provider of real-time AI-powered intelligent transportation system (ITS) solutions, in its strategic investments from e& capital, the venture capital arm of e&, and AT&T Ventures, the venture capital arm of AT&T. Derq, an award-winning MIT spin-off, provides cities and road agencies with an AI platform that powers advanced analytics and connected autonomous vehicle (CAV) applications to help them improve road safety and better manage traffic.
With an HQ in each of Detroit and Dubai, Derq will use the new capital to expand activities in the US, the Gulf Cooperation Council region, and beyond. It will also be used to accelerate the company’s investments in product development and growing its intellectual property portfolio.
In the announcement of the strategic investments, Derq co-founder and CEO Dr. Georges Aoude said, “We are thrilled to have the support of e& and AT&T, two global telecommunication and technology leaders. These strategic relationships not only validate the progress made to date but empower us to scale our operations and enhance our ability to deliver next-generation intelligent transportation solutions to customers around the world.”
The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was co-led by Nick Harley and Ibrahim Elshamy and included Zahrah Fadel, Will Lorenzen and Yue Yang.
