Valar Ventures invests in N26’s Series D extension
Gunderson Dettmer client Valar Ventures participated in the $170 million Series D-1 financing of mobile banking services company N26. Other investors in the round included existing investors Insight Venture Partners, GIC, Tencent, Allianz X, Earlybird Venture Capital and Greyhound Capital. This extension round followed N26’s Series D funding that closed in January of this year.
The blog post announcing the fresh funds said, “This funding round is a big testament to the strong belief that there are many more customers around the world who want banking to change, because they suffer from hidden fees and bad user experiences. It also shows the confidence of our investors from around the world that N26 is changing banking for the better globally. But it’s not all about the future, it also shows what we have already offered to our customers over the last years, which enabled us to serve millions of happy customers in Europe. That’s what we are now going to bring to more countries around the world.”
The Gunderson Dettmer deal team representing Valar Ventures was led by Dan Green and included Nicholas Harley and Sid Ray.
