Gunderson Dettmer represented client Samsung Venture Investment Corporation in its participation of the $23 million Series B-2 financing of Genome Insight, a precision healthcare solutions company. Genome aims to deliver unparalleled bioinformatics that merges whole-genome and patient data to deliver first-in-class research and discovery, precision diagnostics and treatments. The new capital will support Genome Insight’s pursuit of bringing whole-genome based precision diagnostics to routine clinical care.

In the announcement of the transaction, Genome Insight founder and CEO Young Seok Ju said, "Genomic data has the potential to unlock a new era in healthcare. We envision a future where genomic information is integral to standard patient care."

The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was led by Bennett Yee and included Oh Sung Kwon and Alan Gao.
