Gunderson Dettmer represented client PVcase, the global leader in solar project design software, in acquiring Anderson Optimization, the developer of a renewable siting and grid modeling software intended to deliver results faster and more accurately. Driven by world-class engineering and a cutting-edge development team, PVcase is helping power the energy transition by making solar project design faster, more efficient and more precise.

In the announcement of the transaction, PVcase CEO David Trainavicius said, “Solar software incompatibility might seem like a technicality to some. But in our work across 75 countries, developers and asset owners say it’s emerging as a serious growth constraint. With this acquisition, developers can cut their data loss risk substantially. And for European developers, we’ll be able to cut the project design process from weeks to roughly 20 minutes.”

The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was led by corporate partner Michael Hacker and included corporate associates Chris Warren and Annie Cho, M&A partner Billy Kwon and associate Joon Lee, data privacy partner Anna Westfelt and associate James Gately, tax/fund partner Lily Kim and associate Tina Xu, tech/IP associates Cameron Jahansouz, Rebecca Harris and Julie Bateman and executive associate Chris Shin.
