Matrix Partners Announces its $800M Fund, Matrix Partners XII
Gunderson Dettmer represented client Matrix Partners, in the announcement of its $800 million fund, Matrix Partners XII. The company’s mission is to find entrepreneurs who combine excellent technical boldness with a unique point of view as to what the future needs and know how to build it. The new capital will be used to invest in companies that align with their mission and use technology as a lever to tilt the world.
In the announcement of the fund formation, General Partner at Matrix Partners Antonio Rodriguez said, “The venture market has changed a lot over the last decade. It’s bigger and more aggressive than ever, but at the same time, it can seem transactional and zero-sum in a way that distracts or even harms some of the most compelling companies we think deserve to succeed. To tilt the world requires effort and courage. What serious founders need is a partner, not an option-holder waiting in the wings. We look forward to being by your side.”
The Gunderson Dettmer fund formation team was led by Nick Guttilla and included Emily O’Brien, Sujata Awasthi, Nick Dawson and Luke Charette.
