Gunderson Dettmer client Lightspeed Venture Partners participated in the $100 million Series D financing of ShareChat. The round was led by Twitter with TrustBridge Partners, Shunwei Capital, SAIF Capital, India Quotient and Morningside Venture Capital also participating.

Lightspeed has been an early supporter of Sharechat, having made its initial investment in the four year old social media platform in the company’s Series A financing in 2016.  In the announcement of the funding, Founder and Managing Director of Lightspeed Venture Partners said, “Lightspeed is excited to continue to support ShareChat in every financing round – Series A through the current Series D, and beyond. We feel the company has a special opportunity to consolidate its position as the defining media platform to engage India’s diverse, multicultural and multilingual population.”

The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was led by Jonathan Pentzien and included Jolyn Ang and Caitlin Ashworth.
