Gunderson Dettmer represented client Kapor Capital, a Black-led venture capital firm in the announcement of its $126 million new fund. Kapor Capital’s mission is to invest in impact-focused startups that help create an equitable society. The company will use its new capital to invest in pre-seed, stage-seed, and Series A startups that align with the company’s mission.

In the announcement of the fund, co-leader of the new fund and managing partner of Kapor Capital Brian Dixon said “Sometimes when people hear ‘impact’, they hear ‘subpar returns.’ They hear tradeoffs of impact versus returns. Our fund, and our thesis, is fundamentally to build on ‘You can do both.’”

The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was led by Brian Patterson and included Lily Kim, Edward Kocis and Cambria Erskine.
