Gunderson Dettmer Adds Zhen Liu to the Firm’s Management Committee

The Partnership of Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP elected Zhen Liu, head of the firm’s Beijing office, to the firm’s Management Committee.

“As we have grown our international presence over the last decade, Zhen has been instrumental to accelerating our growth in China,” said David T. Young, Managing Partner. “Zhen will be a great addition to the Management Committee, where her perspective and experience will help steer the long-term strategic direction of the Firm.”

Ms. Liu leads the firm’s China practice, representing private and public China-based companies at various stages of their life cycle, as well as international venture and growth equity investors. Since launching the Beijing office at the end of 2012, the firm rapidly achieved prominence in China and across Asia among top venture-backed companies and venture and growth equity funds for its equity financings, joint ventures, cross-border M&A and other strategic transactions. The practice also earned acclaim from various publications, including ALM’s Asian Law Awards, China Business Law Journal and PitchBook for its work with companies and investors.

Ms. Liu earned degrees from both Zhejiang University in China and New York University School of Law. Prior to joining private practice, she worked for the Council on Foreign Relations and the China Law Center at Yale Law School, where she focused on U.S.-China trade relations and legislative reforms.
