Facet.ai Raises $13M in Series A Financing

Gunderson Dettmer represented client Facet.ai, an image editing platform, in its $13 million Series A financing led by Two Sigma Ventures. The company has created an AI-powered photo editing tool that uses APIs to do extremely powerful batch photo editing similar to Snapchat’s photo filters, Adobe Lightroom’s batch editing features, Photoshop’s flexibility, and the collaborative powers of Figma. The new capital will allow Facet to expand its team and develop ideas to build out go-to-market strategies.

In the announcement of the transaction, managing partner of Two Sigma Ventures Dan Abelon said, “One aspect I really like about Facet is that it enables asynchronous collaboration. You can define the style of a photo, and designers can use the same style on lots of different photos without having to manually edit each of the photos. You can encode the look and feel of a photo programmatically, and copy them across from one image to another. You start to get into the more community side – if you like someone’s style, you can apply it to your own images, which opens up a whole world of real-time collaboration.”

The Gunderson deal team was led by Andy Bradley and included Nicholas Agate, Travis Glock, and Joy Kim.
