Gunderson Dettmer represented client Course Hero, an online education platform, in its acquisition of CliffsNotes and Quillbot. CliffsNotes is an iconic study guide brand, which will allow Course Hero to expand its offerings in literary studies. Quillbot is an AI-powered software platform designed to help people improve their writing skills.

In the announcement of the transaction, CEO of Course Hero Andrew Grauer said, "We want to create the most value for the most stakeholders, which includes students, educators, our employees and investors. We are focused on building an independent and sustainable business that helps students learn and graduate."

The Gunderson deal team was led by Jared Grauer and included partners, Mark Foster, Elizabeth Webb, and Natalie Pierce and associates Jeff Solomon, Jesse Birbach, Atul Jain, Cameron Jahansouz, Morgan Otway, Anthony Ramierz, Oh Sung Kwon, and Amy Luong.
