Cornershop to be acquired by Uber

Gunderson Dettmer client and grocery delivery platform Cornershop announced its acquisition by Uber. Cornershop is active in Chile, Mexico, Peru and Canada and Uber plans to add other markets including the United States.

In the announcement of the acquisition Cornershop founder and CEO Oskar Hjertonsson said, “In 2015 we started Cornershop with primarily the Latin American market in mind and we couldn't be more excited to work with Uber to help us take that mission much further. Uber is the perfect partner as we embark on our quest to bring our unique flavor of on-demand groceries from incredible retail partners to many more countries around the world."

The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was led by Dan Green and John Olson and included Colin Chapman, Mark Foster, Robin Stenerson, Michael Richman, Lydia Galbreath, William Haynes, Matthew Martinez, Kelly Trimble, Olga Zolotnik and Laurel Fedder.
