Gunderson Dettmer represented client Contabilizei, a Brazil-based online accounting platform, in its $63.2 million Series C financing led by SoftBank. Contabilizei provides businesses with accounting services, and also helps entrepreneurs open bank accounts, receive money from clients, and choose health insurance for company employees. The company will use its new capital towards expanding its presence through the opening of physical branches.

In the announcement of the transaction, Founder and CEO of Contabilizei Vitor Torres said, “We have positioned ourselves more as a service than just software. We support the entrepreneur with starting a business, accounting and business management, and we don't just have a system in which he enters data and then hires an accountant to take care of the information. In recent years, we have opened services that went beyond the website, such as telephone and WhatsApp conversations. With the physical stores, we reach even more entrepreneurs.”

The Gunderson deal team was led by Adan Muller and included Christel Moreno, Jaime Narayan, Rafa Bellaver, and Sunny Kim.
