Andreessen Horowitz Closes $600M Games Fund One

Gunderson Dettmer represented client Andreessen Horowitz in the closing of its $600 million Games Fund One, the venture capital firm’s inaugural fund solely dedicated to the gaming industry. The new fund will be invested towards opportunities in gaming services and apps as well as companies building technology for Web3 and the metaverse.

In the announcement of the transaction, Andreessen Horowitz stated, “With GAMES FUND ONE, we will continue to add more functions and develop deeper networks that are tailored to the games ecosystem so we can help our portfolio companies with everything from building digital communities, to managing their virtual economies, to IP licensing best practices, to helping build their development teams.”

The Gunderson deal team was led by Sean Caplice and included Steve Franklin, Jaime Narayan, Chris Partin, Sally Yi, Peter Seppi, Lynsey Anderson, and Debbie Goodere.
