Melissa Eisenberg

Melissa is the Practice Innovation Attorney for the firm’s M&A practice. In this role, Melissa is focused on supporting the needs of the firm and its clients by creating and managing resources, driving knowledge-sharing processes and solutions, and establishing best practices that optimize client value.

Melissa has significant experience leading knowledge management efforts, supporting attorney development, and managing transactions and teams. Prior to joining Gunderson Dettmer, Melissa was Special Counsel and Knowledge Management Attorney for the emerging companies and venture capital practice at Sidley Austin. Additionally, Melissa created the inaugural associate development role at Cooley, designing and developing an internal work allocation, utilization, experience, and performance management tracking system and overseeing staffing and career development for junior associates.

Melissa also has extensive experience as a practicing attorney. She was an associate at Fenwick & West and O’Melveny & Myers where she specialized in M&A transactions across a broad range of industries, managed all aspects of numerous deals, and represented buyers and sellers in mergers, stock and asset purchases, and other strategic transactions. She also has experience as an in-house corporate attorney at a publicly-traded company.
