
Tyler L. Kirtley
Tyler is a partner in our Boston office.
Tyler’s practice focuses on the structuring, formation and operation of venture capital and other private equity funds and their related general partner and management company entities. Tyler counsels funds in all stages of their fundraising and organization, including in preparing offering materials, negotiating with investors regarding fund formation matters, and drafting partnership, limited liability company and other governance agreements. After fundraising, Tyler counsels fund managers on all aspects of day-to-day operations. Tyler represents a number of leading venture capital firms and routinely advises first-time fund managers.
Prior to joining the firm, Tyler was a fund formation associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Hogan Lovells. Tyler holds a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif and spent a year as a visiting student at Harvard Law School. Tyler received a B.A. from Stanford University. Prior to attending law school, Tyler was a high school math teacher with Teach For America in Oakland, California.
