
Jay K. Hachigian
Jay is a founding partner of Gunderson Dettmer and leads the firm’s Boston office.
Jay is a founding partner of our firm and also founded and currently leads our Boston office. He advises clients in complex private and public capital market transactions, mergers and acquisitions and venture fund formations/investment transactions.
Jay has represented hundreds of start-ups through all stages of growth as well as maturing companies seeking liquidity through public offerings and sale transactions. Over the last 30 years, he has represented companies in some of their most complex and consequential transactions, including life sciences companies (biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and services) and technology companies in the enterprise software, media, networking and storage industries. He also represents many of the country’s leading venture capital firms, advising those funds on formation, investments and related matters.
Jay enjoys boating, fishing and travel with his wife and three daughters.
Jay earned his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Southern California Law Review. He earned an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, an M.A. in Taxation from the University of Southern California and a B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley.
