
Su Li
Su is a strategic transactions & licensing associate in Gunderson Dettmer’s San Francisco office.
Su counsels clients on the development, licensing, commercialization and protection of technology and intellectual property assets. She structures, negotiates and documents strategic collaborations, software-as-a-service and other software licensing arrangements, data use and sharing agreements, and technology-enabled commercial partnerships.
Su works with clients across the software, internet and data-driven business sectors to align their intellectual property, data and commercial strategies with their business objectives. Drawing on her background in patent and intellectual property litigation, she also advises on intellectual property risk allocation and strategy in connection with commercial transactions.
Before joining Gunderson Dettmer, Su was an associate at Farella Braun + Martel and Fenwick & West. Her experience includes patent and intellectual property litigation, patent due diligence in mergers and acquisitions, and data privacy research.
Su earned her law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. She also holds a doctorate in sociology and a master’s degree in mathematical methods for the social sciences from Northwestern University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature from Beijing Normal University. Her academic and professional background includes quantitative research, data analysis and intellectual property scholarship.
