Stig's practice focuses on the formation and operation of U.S. and international venture capital funds and their related management entities; corporate and partnership income taxation with an emphasis on structuring partnerships, private financings and corporate start-ups; and mergers and acquisitions of public and private companies. He represents several top-tier U.S. and international venture capital firms and provides advice regarding investment activities, day-to-day operations and investor relations on a regular basis.
Prior to re-joining the firm, Stig served as Chief Financial Officer for Cook Inlet Region Inc., where he oversaw the company’s financial planning, investment portfolio management, accounting, budget, tax planning and compliance matters. As head of the company’s business development group, Stig also led efforts to design and shape the company’s overall portfolio of businesses and assets, including spearheading strategic investment and divestment activities. Before practicing law, Stig was a management consultant in the U.S. and Shanghai, focused on growing businesses and investment in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Having been a consumer of legal services for many years, Stig brings an informed commercial insight to the practice of law.
Stig holds a J.D., Conferred with Distinction, from Stanford Law School. While at Stanford, he served as an Editor-in-Chief of the Stanford Environmental Law Journal. Stig received a B.A., summa cum laude, from Dartmouth College where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Stig is a member of the State Bar of California.
