Bennett is a founder and partner in Gunderson Dettmer’s Silicon Valley and San Francisco offices. He represents start-up, emerging growth and public companies and venture capital funds, with a focus on corporate and securities law, VC and growth equity financings, M&A and public offerings. He is a member of the firm's Asia and life science practices.

Bennett serves as a trusted advisor to founders, management and Board of Directors, as well as counsel to VC and growth equity funds in their investments into companies.

Bennett has been involved in thousands of venture capital/growth equity financings and as counsel to M&A transactions having an aggregate value in the billions of dollars. Nevertheless, there is no such thing as a cookie cutter deal and he approaches every client and deal as uniquely important. Creativity and practical business-oriented solutions are the hallmark of Bennett’s practice.

Outside of work, Bennett loves spending time with family and friends. Bennett enjoys hiking and snow skiing, along with an occasional SCUBA dive. Bennett also enjoys traveling (especially to Hawaii) and watching sports (a die-hard Golden States Warriors fan). 

Bennett earned his J.D. at the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law and his B.A. at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
