Nick is a partner in Boston in our Venture Capital & Growth Equity group focusing on fund formation, operations and governance.
Nick actively represents venture capital and growth equity funds and their managers in all aspects of fund formation, operations and governance matters. Nick serves as fund counsel for a number of top-tier venture capital firms and regularly provides advice on terms, investor relations, fund strategy, negotiating with investors and placement agents, drafting fund, general partner and other governance agreements, tax and regulatory matters, structuring U.S. and non-U.S. funds and founding new fund firms. In addition, Nick advises clients on internal general partner and management company affairs.
Nick has presented on fund formation, structuring private equity funds and on organizing and operating LLCs. He previously worked as a legal intern for the Securities and Exchange Commission, as a consultant at a Big Five accounting firm, and as a financial analyst at an investment consulting firm.
Nick holds an LL.M. from Boston University School of Law, a J.D., magna cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School, and a B.S., magna cum laude, from Boston College. He graduated from Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society and the CFA Institute. He holds a third degree black belt in Jiu Jitsu. He is a member of the Interise Advisor Network, providing pro bono legal advice to emerging inner-city businesses. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts.
