Spark Capital Leads Anthropic $450M Series C
Gunderson Dettmer represented client Spark Capital as the lead investor in Anthropic’s $450 million Series C financing. The prominent generative AI startup will use the new capital to support “AI research and products that put safety at the frontier,” according to Dario Amodei, the Company’s CEO.
Other participants in the new round include Google, Salesforce, Zoom Ventures, Sound Ventures and Menlo Ventures.
In the announcement of the transaction, Spark Capital general partner Yasmin Razavi said, “All of us at Spark are excited to partner with Dario and the entire Anthropic team on their mission to build reliable and honest AI systems. The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was led by Michael Hacker and included Timothy Kulis, Erica Davis, Cecilia Jeong and Annie Cho.
