Refinery29 acquired by Vice Media

Gunderson Dettmer client and female-centered digital media and entertainment company Refinery29 has announced its acquisition by Vice Media.

In the announcement of the acquisition CEO of Vice Media Nancy Dubuc said that the combination signaled a “new era of lasting change in digital media,” and added, “we will not allow a rapidly consolidating media ecosystem to constrict young people’s choices.”

The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was led by Hozefa Botee included Andrew Luh, Aaron Rubin, Lisa Gorrin, Mark Foster, Ward Breeze, Michael Richman, Grace Ko, Matthew Martinez, Jack Paterson, Amanda Ferber, Mary Lentowski, Vikki Nguyen, Laurel Fedder and Lily Kim.
