Gunderson Dettmer and Taylor Wessing represented client Common, a co-living operator, in its merger with the largest Europe and Asia co-living operator Habyt. Common is a residential property management platform that provides members with luxury, fully furnished, shared living rental homes with flexible lease terms. The newly combined company plan to become the world's leading co-living operator.

In the announcement of the merger, Founder and Chairman at Common, Brad Hargreaves said, "This larger combined footprint makes sense for both residents and real estate partners alike and creates the first truly global co-living operator. And there's no one doing this better outside the US, with like-minded values and digital capabilities, than Habyt. By merging, we are creating an international co-living network that more and more renters are seeking out right now."

The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was led by corporate partner Colman Lynch and included corporate associates Don Westbrook and Sam Feldman, M&A associates Kristy Wiehe and M&A clerk Abi Rufai, tax/fund partner Jace Clegg, tax/fund associate Sienna White, tech/IP associate Sheena Sangal, employment & labor associate Jeff Salomon, and executive compensation associates Atul Jain and Brett Condie.
