Gina guides companies through their strategic partnering deals at all stages of maturity, providing deep legal expertise through a business lens.
Gina is a partner in Gunderson Dettmer’s Silicon Valley office where she chairs the Strategic Licensing & Transactions Group. She represents growing companies in corporate partnering, strategic alliances, technology protection, and the licensing and commercialization of intellectual property and technology assets. She also advises venture capitalists and companies on intellectual property and technology aspects of venture capital financings and merger and acquisition activities.
Gina helps clients achieve preferred outcomes by bringing pragmatism and pattern recognition gained from representing hundreds of start-ups in commercial agreements. She also helps clients gain efficiencies and speed in the deal process by being fully embedded with Gunderson’s financing and M&A deal teams. In every engagement, Gina brings the firm’s industry-leading experience representing high-growth companies in throughout their life cycles.
Gina has represented emerging growth companies in negotiating major deals opposite many large US and international companies, including Amazon, American Express, Amgen, Bristol Myers Squibb, CVS, Diageo, Eli Lilly, Genentech, Johnson and Johnson, MasterCard, Merck, Procter and Gamble, and Roche. Her experience spans nearly all industries.
Gina is a former D1 athlete, having swum on athletic scholarship for the University of California, Berkeley. She lives on the Peninsula with her husband, three daughters, and two giant dogs (a Newfoundland and a Great Dane). She is a longtime member of the Menlo School Alumni Board.
Gina is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law and the University of California, Berkeley.
