Gunderson Dettmer Represents Thrive Capital in Co-Leading Databricks $1B Series K at $100B+ Valuation
Gunderson Dettmer represented Thrive Capital as a co-lead investor in the $1 billion Series K financing of Databricks, the data and AI company. The round was co-led by Thrive Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Insight Partners, MGX and WCM Investment Management.
Databricks, now valued at more than $100 billion, will use the funds to accelerate its AI strategy – expanding Agent Bricks, launching the new Lakebase category and fueling global growth.
In an announcement of the transaction, Databricks co-founder and CEO Ali Ghodsi said, “With this new capital, we can move even faster with Agent Bricks, helping customers in every industry turn their data into production AI agents, and carry more momentum as we create the new Lakebase category, reinventing databases for AI agents.”
The Gunderson deal team was led by Ryan Purcell and included Greg Volkmar, Aaron Rubin, Sam Feldman, Cecilia Jeong, David Styles, Emily Miller, Alex VanDerKolk and Brian Wohlhieter.
