Gunderson Dettmer represented Statsig in its $1.1B acquisition by OpenAI
Gunderson Dettmer represented client Statsig, a leading experimentation platform for A/B testing, feature flagging, and real-time decisioning, in its acquisition by OpenAI.
Founded on the belief that the best products emerge from rapid experimentation and data-informed decision-making, Statsig empowers some of the world’s most innovative companies to build and iterate at scale. OpenAI has been a long-standing user of the Statsig platform, and bringing it in-house will strengthen OpenAI’s ability to accelerate innovation and build safer, more responsive AI-driven applications such as ChatGPT and Codex.
The acquisition also brings Vijaye Raji, Statsig Founder and CEO, to OpenAI as Chief Technology Officer of Applications. Vijaye will head product engineering for ChatGPT and Codex, with responsibilities that span core systems and product lines including infrastructure and Integrity.
Upon close of the acquisition, the Statsig team will join OpenAI while continuing to serve its customer base independently.
