Gunderson Dettmer Represented Chile-Based Buk in Bemmbo Acquisition

Gunderson Dettmer represented client Buk, a Chile-based HR platform, in its acquisition of Bemmbo, a Chilean startup specializing in financial process automation. With this transaction, the company launches “Buk Finanzas,” a new business unit that will integrate people management and financial solutions in a single location.

Buk’s platform offers a broad set of HR solutions, grouped into three pillars: administration, organizational development and benefits. Bemmbo’s technology introduces new capabilities in expense reporting, bank reconciliations and accounts receivable/payable management. Together, these enhancements are designed to help small and medium-sized businesses strengthen their financial management.

In the announcement of the acquisition, Buk CEO Jaime Arrieta said, “This acquisition is a reflection of our confidence in Chilean talent and our commitment to the local ecosystem. We are driven by the conviction that it is possible to build powerful, humane and sustainable technology from Chile.”

The Gunderson deal team was led by Dan Green and Daniel Gallo and included Eduardo Espinosa de los Monteros Pereda and Felipe Hasenohr.
