Egypt-Based Suplyd Raises $2M Pre-Series A
Gunderson Dettmer represented client Suplyd, an Egypt-based restaurant procurement platform, in its pre-Series A financing led by 4DX Ventures, Camel Ventures and Plus VC, with participation from Seedstars.
Founded in 2022, Suplyd digitizes procurement supply chain processes for hotels, restaurants, and cafes by directly connecting restaurants with suppliers through its platform, aiming to address Egypt’s supply chain inefficiencies caused by fragmentation, unreliable deliveries and lack of transparency.
The new capital will enable Suplyd to enhance its platform beyond traditional procurement, accelerate new service verticals and expand its reach within Egypt. Suplyd is also working on tools to improve backend operations for restaurants.
In the announcement of the transaction, Suplyd founder and CEO Gohar Said said, “Over the past four years, we’ve built Suplyd into a critical part of Egypt’s restaurant ecosystem. What started as a bold idea is now powering thousands of restaurants every day. We didn’t just witness the industry’s digital transformation. We helped lead it. And we’re just getting started.”
The Gunderson deal team was led by Ibrahim Elshamy and included Matt Fagan.
