David AI Announces $25M Series A Financing

Gunderson Dettmer represented client David AI, a developer of the world’s first audio data research company, in its $25 million Series A financing co-led by Alt Capital and Amplify Partners with participation from First Round Capital, Y Combinator, BoxGroup and more. David AI aims to build the foundational data layer for audio AI, supporting cutting-edge voice production systems and enabling frontier research in artificial intelligence. The company will use its new capital to expand its team across research, product, engineering, and operations.

In the announcement of the transaction, David AI released a statement saying,  “At David AI, our mission is to bring AI into the real world—and we believe voice is how that will happen. Today, we’re seeing AI phone agents take hold (e.g., in customer support), but the scope of voice AI’s impact will be much larger.”

The Gunderson deal team included Lou Soto, Damon Zhangchai, Umar Chaudhary, Jesse Birbach and Madeleine Matsui.
