David AI Announces $50M Series B Led by Meritech

Gunderson Dettmer represented client David AI, the world’s first audio data research lab, in its $50 million Series B financing led by Meritech with participation from NVIDIA, Alt Capital, First Round Capital, Amplify Partners and Y Combinator.

David AI is building the foundational data layer for audio AI, supporting cutting-edge voice production systems and enabling frontier research in artificial intelligence.

In the announcement of the transaction, David AI released a statement saying, “We’ve built David AI as an audio data research lab - to design, test, and collect audio datasets and evaluations with the same research-driven rigor our customers bring to model development. We care not just about data quality, but about how that data impacts a model.”

The Gunderson deal team was led by Lou Soto and included Damon Zhangchai, Umar Chaudhary, Madeleine Matsui and Adriana Alvarado.
