Emma’s practice specializes in the formation and operation of venture capital and other private equity funds and their general partner and related management company entities. Emma advises funds in all stages of their operations, including fund formation and governance matters, compliance with securities laws, the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, ERISA, as well as on other matters pertaining to venture capital and private equity funds. Emma also represents a wide variety of emerging growth and public companies throughout their lifecycles. She is broadly experienced with corporate formation and governance matters, venture capital financing transactions, and a variety of transaction structures.
Emma joined Gunderson Dettmer in 2011 after practicing in the Boston office of Ropes & Gray LLP. Emma’s practice at Ropes & Gray LLP focused on the representation of registered investment companies and investment advisers.
