Peter is Of Counsel in our Boston office.


His practice in the Licensing, Strategic Partnering and Commercial Transactions group focuses on representing start-up and emerging companies and venture capitalists, most often in the areas of biotechnology, medical devices, telecommunications, computers and software. Peter has extensive experience resolving a broad range of legal and business issues for his clients (as licensor, licensee, buyer, seller and investor) in sophisticated transactions related to commercializing intellectual property. His representative clients include Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Decision Biomarkers, Vitae Pharmaceuticals, Cardio-Optics, Voltaire, Synchronoss Technologies, Sepaton, SkyFuel, Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV) and Prospect Venture Partners.
Before joining Gunderson Dettmer, Peter had a similar practice in the entrepreneurial services group at Bingham McCutchen, LLP. He attended law school after ten years at Lockheed Martin Corp., where he was a principal software engineer and software engineering manager. His last positions at Lockheed were in avionics business development and leading software development efforts for the F-22 cockpit controls. Peter received his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School. He earned an M.S. at Duke University and a B.A., summa cum laude, at Middlebury College. Peter is a member of the Massachusetts State Bar.
